Caretaker Religious Minister Aneeq Ahmed has indicated that the Hajj policy will be announced on November 15, with the goal of facilitating a more affordable pilgrimage amidst increasing inflation.
Speaking at a dinner reception hosted by the Pakistan Business Group Organization, Ahmed expressed the government’s commitment to reducing expenses for this year’s Hajj. He underscored the consistent adherence to the Hajj Policy since 2004 and stressed the importance of following the directives of the Saudi government.
In a significant update, Ahmed revealed a reduced cost for the upcoming Hajj, now set at less than Rs1,075,000 compared to the previous Rs1,175,000. He assured pilgrims of maximum convenience and comfort, including amenities like an affordable internet data package and a private network SIM during their 45-day stay in the Kingdom.
The minister introduced a shorter 20-day Hajj program to accommodate pilgrims with time constraints. Those paying their Hajj dues in dollars were exempted from the balloting process, streamlining the Hajj process.
To enhance security, each pilgrim will receive a suitcase with a QR code for secure tracking of both their luggage and themselves throughout the entire Hajj operation. Additionally, the ministry initiated a measure to promote discipline among female pilgrims by providing a scarf (hijab) adorned with the national flag on their back.
