LAHORE — In an extraordinary display of athletic prowess and unwavering determination, Pakistani martial artist Muhammad Rashid Naseem has cemented his place in history by becoming the first Pakistani to set over 150 Guinness World Records, with his tally now standing at an impressive 154 individual records.
The accomplished athlete has dominated multiple categories, particularly in martial arts disciplines including punching, nunchaku strikes, elbow strikes, and an array of breaking techniques that have captured international attention.
Breaking Records, Breaking Barriers
Rashid Naseem’s most recent achievement came when he set a new world record for the fastest boxing punches in one minute. The martial artist delivered an astonishing 386 full-contact punches in 60 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 374 punches held by England’s Josh Llewellyn-Jones. Guinness World Records officially confirmed the feat and updated it on their website.
This latest accomplishment represents just one highlight in a career filled with remarkable feats. Among his diverse portfolio of records, Naseem holds the distinction of breaking 158 clay targets in one minute using nunchaku, a record that has remained unbeaten for over a decade since he first set it. The previous record had been held by Samuel Sprague from the United States, who managed 102 clay targets in the same timeframe.
In one of his most unique records, Naseem demonstrated extraordinary precision by tossing an egg in the air, cracking a walnut with his hand, and catching the egg without breaking it. He successfully performed this incredible feat 80 times in one minute, surpassing the previous record of 72 held by a German competitor.
A Year of Historic Achievement
The year 2025 proved particularly productive for Naseem, as he set 25 Guinness World Records within a single year. According to official data published by Guinness World Records, these achievements were spread across several demanding disciplines, including skipping, nunchaku, marble tile breaking, boxing punches, and walnut breaking categories.
This remarkable annual output made Naseem responsible for more than half of Pakistan’s total 43 Guinness World Records recognized in 2025. His performances attracted international attention and highlighted Pakistan’s growing presence in competitive record-setting events.
International Recognition
Naseem’s achievements have earned him recognition far beyond Pakistan’s borders. He is the only Pakistani to have represented his country on international television programs in Italy, Germany, Korea, China, Romania, Spain, and Singapore, setting world records on several of these prestigious platforms.
Guinness World Records has featured Naseem’s nunchaku record on their official Facebook page, where the video has garnered over 80 million views. The record has also been included in Guinness World Records’ “All-Time Great – Best of the Best” performances and was featured in their special 70th anniversary promotional video.
Throughout his career, Naseem has broken records previously held by martial arts masters from countries including China, India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Iran, Egypt, Italy, and Bosnia. He has shattered over 40 Indian records alone, establishing himself as a dominant force in the global record-breaking community.
A Family Affair
The Naseem family’s contribution to Pakistan’s record-breaking achievements extends beyond Rashid himself. His daughter, Fatima Naseem, has secured four world records, while his wife, Saba Rashid, has added one more to the family’s tally. Remarkably, his father, Naseemuddin, created a world record at the age of 73, demonstrating that dedication to excellence knows no age limits.
Overall, 31 out of Pakistan’s 43 recognized world records in 2025 belong to Rashid Naseem and his immediate family, representing an unprecedented achievement in the country’s sporting history.
Additionally, Rashid Naseem Martial Arts Academy has become the top record-holding martial arts institution in Pakistan, with 150 Guinness World Records to its name.
Dedication and Purpose
Naseem, who began his record-breaking journey in 2013 by removing 40 bottle caps in one minute, has mentioned that he has been working hard for the past decade to achieve his goals. His 154th record was dedicated to Palestine, while he previously dedicated his 150th record to the Pakistan Army, demonstrating his commitment to using his platform for meaningful causes.
As Rashid Naseem continues to push the boundaries of human capability, he stands as a testament to Pakistani talent on the world stage, inspiring countless individuals to pursue excellence and never give up on their dreams. His legacy extends far beyond the numbers, representing the power of determination, discipline, and national pride.
