Pakistan’s Naval Chief, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, has revealed the development of the country’s first indigenously designed warship, the “Jinnah Class Frigates.” This significant initiative aims to enhance Pakistan’s maritime defense capabilities amidst a challenging multi-threat environment.
These advanced frigate-sized warships, measuring 100-150 meters with a displacement of 2,000-4,000 tons, will serve as multi-mission platforms. They are equipped for surface warfare, anti-submarine operations, and air defense, featuring state-of-the-art guns, missiles, torpedoes, and anti-submarine rockets. This development marks a major milestone in Pakistan’s pursuit of self-reliance in defense technology.
