Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir made headlines during his recent visit to Washington, D.C., where he unveiled Pakistan’s digital vision in a landmark meeting attended by former U.S. President Donald Trump. His speech connected national security with crypto mining, AI, and resource-driven innovation—signaling a bold pivot in Pakistan’s global strategy.
Referencing Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos as a measured and principled military response, Munir emphasized that Pakistan’s future strength lies in digital transformation. “Our military response was measured and precise,” he said, adding that the country is ready to lead with values and vision.
At the heart of his address was a plan to use $1 trillion in mineral reserves—including lithium, copper, and rare earths—to power AI data centers and government-backed crypto mining, fueled by surplus hydropower. “These are the resources that power the blockchain and AI future,” he noted.
Support also came from U.S. official Eric Meyer, who said, “Critical minerals are vital for our most advanced technologies,” reaffirming growing alignment between U.S. and Pakistani interests.
Munir’s message was clear: crypto and AI are new pillars of national power. With a vision set on 2047, he positioned Pakistan as a rising player in the decentralized digital economy, where technology, security, and sovereignty converge.
