Pakistan has achieved a major milestone in women’s sports as the national women’s football team has been officially approved to participate in the FIFA Series for the first time. The announcement, made by the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), marks a breakthrough moment that elevates the team onto the global stage.
According to the PFF, FIFA’s approval reflects the rapid growth, discipline, and progress shown by women’s football in Pakistan in recent years. The selection places Pakistan among a limited group of nations invited to join the international initiative designed to provide emerging football countries with structured, competitive exposure.
Officials said the historic development will allow Pakistan’s women footballers to compete in official FIFA-sanctioned international fixtures, giving players opportunities to face teams from different continents, sharpen skills, and gain global visibility.
“The approval for the FIFA Series is a massive step forward,” the federation said. “It not only raises the profile of women’s football in Pakistan but also provides players with a platform to experience international standards of competition.”
To prepare for the global event, the PFF plans to organize national training camps, conditioning programmes, and friendly matches ahead of the tournament. The initiative aligns with the federation’s ongoing efforts to invest in women’s football and strengthen Pakistan’s presence in international sport.
The FIFA Women’s Series will take place in March and April 2026, with opening events planned in Brazil, Ivory Coast, and Thailand. The complete schedule and team groupings are expected to be released in early 2026.
The milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter for women’s football in Pakistan—one that promises growth, opportunity, and representation on the world stage.
