The largest state-owned exploration and production (E&P) company in the nation, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), has found hydrocarbon reserves at the Togh-02 well, which is situated in the Kohat province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) of the event on Tuesday.
Hydrocarbons have been discovered in the exploratory segment of the Togh-02 (Slant) well in the Lumshiwal-II Formation, on sole risk between OGDCL (75%) and Saif Energy Limited (SEL) (25%) by OGDCL, the operator of the Kohat Exploration License, governed under the Pakistan Petroleum & Exploration Rules, 2001, located in the District of Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, by the grace of Almighty Allah, according to the notice.
On August 28, 2023, the well was spudded, and it successfully reached 2,600 meters, its maximum depth. The notice found that the well had a gas flow rate of 2.842 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) and a condensate flow rate of 28 barrels per day (bpdc). The wellhead flow pressure was recorded at 540 pounds per square inch (PSI) with a 32/64″ choke size.
