In a significant move toward inclusion and equal citizenship, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a nationwide minority registration campaign. The drive will run from August 4 to August 11, 2025, aligning with National Minorities Day.
Designed to simplify the process for minority community members to obtain or renew national identity documents, the initiative aims to strengthen their access to essential public services, including education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and the electoral process.
In an official statement, NADRA reaffirmed its commitment to equality, declaring, “You are allowed to have the same rights as every other citizen.”
To facilitate easy access, NADRA will deploy Mobile Registration Vans (MRVs) in various cities, towns, and remote areas. Additionally, individuals may visit their nearest NADRA registration center during the campaign period to update or acquire their identity documents.
The campaign is part of NADRA’s broader digital transformation and inclusive service strategy, which seeks to empower marginalized and underrepresented communities. The initiative has been widely welcomed by civil society organizations, rights advocates, and political leaders as a meaningful step toward a more inclusive and equitable Pakistan.
