The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast indicating a welcome respite from the ongoing heatwave with anticipated rain and thundershowers across the country. From July 10 to July 15, significant rainfall is expected to occur in the upper and central parts of Pakistan, bringing relief to areas experiencing humid conditions despite scattered showers.
The PMD’s latest update highlights an increase in monsoon activity originating from the Arabian Sea, which is set to penetrate northern Pakistan starting July 10. This influx of moisture is expected to lead to prolonged monsoon showers in Kashmir, including areas like Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, and others from July 10 to 16. These regions may also experience occasional heavy rainfall, contributing to water reservoirs and agricultural needs.
In addition to Kashmir, several other regions across Pakistan are forecasted to receive thunderstorms, lightning, and intermittent rainfall during this period. These weather patterns are expected to provide relief from the prevailing hot and humid conditions, benefiting agriculture and cooling temperatures across the country.
Overall, the upcoming weather patterns signify a significant shift towards more favorable conditions after a period of intense heat, aligning with seasonal monsoon expectations for improved moisture and precipitation levels.
