During the next New Zealand series, Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan has the potential to break a big T20I record that is now shared by teammate Babar Azam and Indian star batsman Virat Kohli.
In T20I cricket, Kohli and Azam were the fastest players to amass 3000 runs, each taking 81 innings, while Aaron Finch of Australia needed 98 innings to reach this mark.
But in his next two innings, Rizwan needs just 19 runs to become the fastest player to attain this milestone. To date, he has amassed 2,981 runs in 78 innings.
Babar Azam is also getting close to breaking Virat Kohli’s record for the most runs in Twenty20 international cricket.
With 3,698 runs scored in Twenty20 International cricket, Azam is now ranked third among all T20I scorers. With 4,037 runs, Kohli leads the list, followed by teammate Rohit Sharma with 3,974 runs.
