In a significant move to advance Pakistan’s transportation infrastructure, Master Motor Corporation and Yutong Bus Company have entered into a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to form a Joint Venture Company. This collaboration aims to locally manufacture and assemble Yutong’s innovative new energy city buses in Pakistan.
The joint venture, Yutong Master, will establish a cutting-edge Greenfield plant, making it the first and only facility in Pakistan dedicated to producing city buses locally. These new energy city buses, which come in both hybrid and electric powertrain options, represent a major advancement in the country’s public transportation system. Designed to address the increasing demand for efficient public transport, these buses will also support government initiatives to modernize and upgrade the nation’s transportation infrastructure with sustainable and eco-friendly solutions.
The MoU was signed by Danial Malik, Director of Master Motor, and Huang Yuanchao of Yutong at the Pakistan Shenzhen Business Conference on June 5, 2024. This event, part of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s visit to China, was aimed at fostering new business ventures and stimulating economic growth in Pakistan. The agreement highlights a significant milestone in the economic partnership between Pakistan and China, emphasizing the mutual commitment to industrial development and technological collaboration.
The establishment of the Yutong Master plant is expected to not only transform the public transport landscape but also create substantial employment opportunities and stimulate the local economy. The introduction of Yutong’s New Energy City Buses is set to propel Pakistan towards a more sustainable, efficient public transport network, aligning with global trends in green urban mobility.
