Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” scheme, aimed at providing affordable housing to the people of Punjab. During the launch event, Maryam Nawaz expressed her pride in the successful creation of this scheme, highlighting the government’s commitment to quickly building homes for those in need. “We have succeeded in creating this scheme, and we will quickly build houses and provide them to the people,” she stated.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that both she and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had been eagerly anticipating the implementation of this initiative. She noted that during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure, land was distributed to farmers, and now, this legacy is being continued.
She also stressed the importance of homeownership, saying, “They say that if you give someone a home and a roof, there is no greater service.” To support this initiative, the government will provide a 15 lakh interest-free loan for the purchase of 5 marla land in urban areas and 10 marla land in rural areas. “No payments will be required for the first three months,” she added.
Maryam Nawaz also detailed the affordability of the scheme, with monthly installments set at 14,000 rupees. “I understand how low-income people live, and this scheme is designed to ease their financial burden,” she explained.
In addition to the housing initiative, Maryam Nawaz announced a major relief package for electricity bills, amounting to 45 to 50 billion rupees. She also unveiled plans for Pakistan’s largest solar program, set to launch next year, which aims to eliminate the need for electricity bills in the future. “Maryam Nawaz is bringing the biggest solar program in history from next year so that you don’t have to pay the bill next year,” she declared.
The “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” scheme is a key component of Maryam Nawaz’s efforts to provide relief and improve living conditions for the people of Punjab.
