In a collaborative effort with Tehsildars (Recovery), Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has achieved the retrieval of over Rs 25 million from nearly 1,000 dormant defaulters across five districts: Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur, and Okara, during a 31-day recovery campaign.
According to LESCO’s spokesperson, on the 29th day of the campaign, Chief Engineer O&M (T&G) Zafar Iqbal, along with Tehsildar City Mujahid Zia and Tehsildar Shalimar Noraiz Humayun, successfully collected outstanding dues of Rs 3.38 million from 88 defaulters in the Northern Circle and Rs 5.44 million from 106 defaulters in the Eastern Circle.
Furthermore, various other LESCO officials, such as Manager (Material Disposal) Engineer Anwar Watto, Manager (Technical) Engineer Muhammad Farooq, and Manager E&S (PMU) Engineer Abbas Ali, supported by their respective Tehsildars, played a significant role in recovering substantial sums from defaulters within their respective circles.
Throughout the campaign, LESCO effectively recouped a total of more than Rs 787.4 million from 24,461 dormant defaulters across all operational circles. CEO Engineer Shahid Haider underscored the company’s commitment to ongoing efforts in reducing losses stemming from inactive defaulters.
