The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has referred a revised Rs. 68.74 billion project for the Karachi–Lahore Motorway (KLM) to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for approval.
The project covers land acquisition, property compensation, and utility relocation along the 959-km stretch of the motorway — one of Pakistan’s most vital infrastructure projects for nationwide connectivity.
The meeting, chaired by Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, also cleared or forwarded other projects, including:
- Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment & Research, Lahore – Rs. 74.9B
- Harpo Hydropower Project (34.5MW) – Rs. 34.34B
- Eight-lane overhead bridge at Imamia Colony Crossing, Shahdara – Rs. 4.67B
