The Government of Japan has provided grant assistance totaling JPY 794 million, which equates to approximately $5.3 million, to the Government of Pakistan via JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency). This grant is earmarked for addressing the challenges faced by the educational infrastructure due to the floods in 2022 and heavy monsoon rains in Sindh. Specifically, it will fund the reconstruction of nine fully damaged school buildings in six districts within the province.
Through this grant, the reconstruction of school buildings that suffered damage will play a crucial role in establishing a safe and conducive learning environment for students, with a particular emphasis on enhancing girls’ access to education.
