Balochistan is set to see a major boost in its economic landscape with the establishment of the Hub Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The project, which is expected to generate 50,000 jobs, aims to transform the region into a significant industrial hub.
Key Impact of the Hub SEZ
The Hub SEZ is projected to bring in substantial economic growth, contributing approximately Rs170 billion in tax revenues. With its focus on industrialisation, the zone is expected to create thousands of jobs, addressing unemployment in the region and fostering long-term economic stability.
Strategic Importance for Balochistan
Bilal Khan Kakar, Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade, has emphasized the national significance of the project. He explained that the SEZ would be a cornerstone for the province’s industrial development, providing essential employment opportunities and boosting the overall economic framework.
Supporting Other Regional Initiatives
The Hub SEZ complements other ongoing developments in the area, such as the Bostan Industrial Zone, which spans 1,000 acres and focuses on industries like fruit processing and pharmaceutical manufacturing. These initiatives collectively strengthen Balochistan’s industrial capacity and its economic resilience.
