Google for Startups has announced the launch of AI Academy, a new initiative aimed at supporting and accelerating the growth of AI startups in Pakistan and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. The program will unite over 20 startups focused on developing AI technologies, creating a dynamic AI community within APAC and sparking cross-border innovation and partnerships.
According to the news release, the AI Academy will foster a collaborative environment for idea exchange, expertise sharing, and resource access, accelerating the development of advanced AI solutions and positioning APAC as a global leader in AI advancements.
Selected startups will benefit from:
- Tailored Mentorship: Access to Google’s top AI experts for personalized guidance and support.
- Google Cloud Credits: Up to $350,000 in credits to support AI development and experimentation.
- Community Building Opportunities: Chances to connect and collaborate with other AI startups across the APAC region.
The AI Academy is designed to fast-track startups by helping them build a “proof of concept” and a product roadmap, enabling rapid validation and enhancement of their AI solutions. By leveraging Google Cloud tools, startups can integrate their solutions into existing products more efficiently, demonstrating the immediate value of their innovations.
Farhan S. Qureshi, Google Pakistan’s Country Director, remarked, “Our latest AI Academy program reflects Google’s commitment to advancing AI across the Asia-Pacific region. With Pakistan being a key market, we hope local startups will leverage this opportunity to enhance their AI solutions and strengthen the AI ecosystem in APAC.”
Applications are open and will close on August 16, 2024.
