The Ambassador of Egypt to Pakistan, Dr. Ihab Abdel Hamid, emphasized that the easing of bilateral visas between Pakistan and Egypt will significantly enhance economic and trade relations, as well as promote tourism between the two countries. He highlighted that Egypt, renowned for its historical heritage, and Pakistan, known for its stunning natural beauty, are both prime destinations for global tourists.
During an exclusive interview with APP, Dr. Ihab expressed his admiration for the natural beauty of Pakistan’s northern regions, particularly the Skardu area, which he described as highly attractive to international tourists. He emphasized the importance of the private sector in fostering tourism cooperation between the two nations and encouraged the business communities in both countries to play an active role.
Dr. Ihab also discussed the deep historical, religious, and cultural ties between Pakistan and Egypt, urging the need to educate the younger generation about their shared heritage. He called for the exchange of business delegations to enhance economic and trade relations, noting that current bilateral trade is below its potential. He further mentioned that Egypt can play a crucial role in Pakistan’s Look Africa Policy, aimed at increasing trade with African nations.
Dr. Ihab pointed out that Egypt, with the largest population among Arab countries and the third-largest in Africa, is a significant agricultural nation with most of its population concentrated around the Nile River. He also stressed the importance of promoting people-to-people contact to further strengthen tourism and cultural relations between the two countries.
