Russia and Pakistan are set to enhance bilateral ties by collaborating on the establishment of direct flight services. Muhammad Khalid Jamal, Pakistan’s newly appointed Ambassador to Russia, highlighted the significance of this initiative, emphasizing its potential to strengthen people-to-people contact and foster economic interactions between the two nations.
The Ambassador expressed optimism that the resumption of direct air services would play a crucial role in bringing the people of both countries closer and boosting trade relations.
Recognizing the economic considerations involved, Ambassador Jamal acknowledged that the profitability of these routes is a key factor for airlines. He expressed hope that overcoming financial challenges would lead to the successful reinstatement of direct flights between the two countries.
Looking back, the Pakistani envoy recalled a time when direct flights had existed, contributing to an increase in Russian tourists visiting Pakistan. However, financial constraints faced by airlines had resulted in the discontinuation of these services.
The current collaboration aims to overcome such challenges, fostering stronger ties and facilitating smoother travel and trade exchanges between Russia and Pakistan.
