The Blue World City Consortium is the sole offeror in the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines, in which it aimed to bring 100 new aircraft to boost its fleet. The proposal also ensured more than 7,000 of PIA’s existing staff are retained, giving a level of stability as regards staff at this point of transformation for the airline.
Privatization will breathe new life into PIA, which has perennial financial issues, and inject fresh investment into Pakistan’s aviation sector. Once the bid is approved, it will be a new era for PIA to improve its services and further Pakistan’s connectivity and tourism growth.
