Twelve-year-old Batool Ali Asghar Poonawala has emerged as one of Pakistan’s most exciting young sporting talents after securing a bronze medal for Pakistan Navy in the 200m Backstroke at the 35th National Games 2025. Despite being the youngest swimmer in the lineup—competing against senior and international-level athletes—Batool delivered a composed and powerful performance to earn a podium finish.
Batool’s rise in Pakistan’s swimming circuit has been rapid and consistent. Earlier this year, she won two gold medals at the Junior Nationals in Islamabad. She followed that with a remarkable run at the Sindh Open Championship in Karachi, where she claimed three golds, three silvers, and one bronze across multiple categories.
Her achievements continued at the Pakistan Boys & Girls National Age Group Swimming Championship, where she won bronze in the 100m freestyle while representing Pakistan Navy.
Most recently, Batool helped set a new championship record as part of the Age Group 11–12 100m Medley Relay team at the 31st Palmolive Sindh Women’s Swimming Championship 2025.
With every competition, Batool Poonawala strengthens her position as one of Pakistan’s most promising young swimmers. Her latest success at the National Games confirms she is a rising star worth watching—and a future champion in the making.
