The Alhamra Arts Council organized a live painting competition to commemorate Independence Day, where artists paid tribute to the leaders of the Pakistan Movement and honored the sacrifices of the nation’s martyrs through their artwork.
In her remarks, Executive Director of Alhamra, Sarah Rashid, emphasized that the organization has planned a series of programs to celebrate Independence Day. The building has been adorned with the national flag in green and white, and young Pakistani artists are encouraged to reflect on the sacrifices of the martyrs through painting. “We are pleased to witness the enthusiastic participation of our youth, who have vividly depicted the struggles of the freedom movement, the crescent and star of our flag, and our revered leaders. Their work is a testament to their profound love for the country,” she said.
A jury, led by Irfan Gul, will evaluate the artworks created during the competition. The top three artists will be awarded certificates and cash prizes at a ceremony on August 14. Additionally, an exhibition of all participating artworks will be held, showcasing the creativity and passion of the young artists.
This competition not only pays tribute to the nation’s heroes but also inspires the younger generation to recognize and appreciate the sacrifices made for their freedom.
