Pakistan is set to premiere its first-ever space-driven telefilm, Jahan Aur Bhi Hain – Beyond the Blue, on May 9 at the Institute of Space Technology (IST), Islamabad. This marks a creative leap in combining cinema with science to engage the public with space awareness.
A National Collaboration for Science and Storytelling
The telefilm is a joint production by the National Center of GIS and Space Applications (NCGSA) and IST, supported by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. Beaconhouse National University and Lock Down Productions have also contributed to the project.
A Story Rooted in Science
The 38-minute film follows a female scientist who returns to her village and uses space-based tools to help the community prepare for a looming natural disaster. The story emphasizes the practical role of satellite technology and geospatial data in disaster management.
More Than Just Entertainment
Jahan Aur Bhi Hain aligns with Pakistan’s broader goal of promoting science and technology through education and media. It’s part of the country’s growing interest in using space science for sustainable development and public awareness.
Coming Soon to PTV
Following its premiere at IST, the telefilm will air on Pakistan Television (PTV), aiming to reach a wider audience and inspire interest in space research, especially among young viewers.
