Global Architectural Forum Held in Rwanda
The Institute of Architects Pakistan (IAP) proudly announces the successful conclusion of the 2024 Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) Symposium and General Assembly. Held from August 21 to 23 in Kigali, Rwanda, this prestigious event gathered over 300 international delegates. The symposium focused on critical discussions surrounding “Education, Policy, and Practice: Advancing the Declaration on Sustainable Urbanisation in the Commonwealth,” with the goal of fostering sustainable urban development.
Pakistani Talent Shines on the Global Stage
At the Gala Dinner, IAP celebrated the remarkable achievements of 16 Pakistani architecture students. This recognition highlights the emerging talent within Pakistan’s architectural community. Waleed Ashfaque, Noman Awan, and Nihal Ahmed were honored with regional awards, while 13 other students received commendations for their outstanding contributions. These students have exemplified excellence in design, innovation, and sustainable urban development, making their mark on the international stage.
Guidance from an Esteemed Mentor
The accomplishments of these students were greatly supported by their mentor, Mr. Kalim A. Siddiqui, the immediate past president of the Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA). His guidance and leadership played a crucial role in helping these young architects achieve international recognition. Mr. Siddiqui’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of architects is reflected in the success of his mentees, who continue to push boundaries in the field of architecture.
A Step Towards Sustainable Urbanisation
The symposium not only celebrated individual achievements but also reinforced the commitment to advancing sustainable urbanisation across Commonwealth nations. The event served as a platform for global architects to collaborate, exchange ideas, and propose policies aimed at building greener, more sustainable urban environments. The success of Pakistani students at this global event demonstrates the country’s growing influence in the world of architecture and its dedication to promoting sustainable development.
