Huzaifa Shahid of Pakistan has secured the Under-13 title at the Hong Kong Junior Squash Championship with a stellar performance in the final match. He defeated Hong Kong’s Wang Ho-kiu with scores of 11-6, 11-8, and 11-4.
In the semi-finals, Shahid showcased his talent by overcoming Malaysia’s second-seeded Ruthiran Vidhurran with scores of 11-7, 11-6, 11-5. Earlier, in the quarter-finals, he triumphed over China’s Liu Yuanxi in straight sets, winning 11-3, 11-5, 11-5.
This victory adds to Shahid’s impressive list of achievements this year, which includes winning the U13 event at the Australian Junior Open and the Borneo Junior Open in Malaysia last year. He was also the silver medalist in the U13 category at the Asian Junior Squash Championship held in June.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal has advanced to the final of the Bega Open Squash in Australia. He displayed exceptional skill in the semi-final by defeating Switzerland’s Robin Gadola 3-1 with scores of 6-11, 11-4, 2-11, and 3-11.
Nasir Iqbal has been in remarkable form this year, consistently climbing the PSA rankings and winning three tournaments in Australia. As he prepares for the Bega Open final, he aims to secure another victory. Nasir, with 16 titles in his PSA career, will face Hong Kong’s second-seed Matthew Lai in the final.
