Deputy Commissioner Dera and Chief Executive Officer of the Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSSC) Sarah Rehman emphasized the organization’s dedication to improving living conditions in DI Khan. During her first visit to WSSC, she reviewed the company’s performance and explored ways to enhance its functions. She also inspected various sections of the company office.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner chaired a meeting with company officials to discuss and deliberate on various issues related to WSSC’s operations. The officials briefed her on the company’s efforts to provide quality water and sanitation services to the eight urban and semi-urban Union Councils of DI Khan, serving a population of over 350,000.
WSSC is focused on producing, transmitting, and distributing potable water, managing the sewerage system, developing schemes to cover service shortfalls, and collecting revenues to ensure economic viability. The meeting participants thoroughly reviewed WSSC’s performance, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. They also considered recommendations for improving the company’s operations, drawing on their collective expertise.
The officials highlighted WSSC’s effective response during Muharram and Ashura, providing services in 48 Thalla Jat, disposing of 3,000 tons of waste, and ensuring extraordinary cleanliness arrangements for DI Khan’s citizens. The Deputy Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the briefing and committed to utilizing all available resources to provide the best sanitation services to the citizens of DI Khan. She appreciated the staff and sanitation workers for their successful cleanliness operations and services.
As the CEO, Sarah Rehman reiterated her commitment to running WSSC DI Khan as envisioned by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She mentioned the ongoing work on WSSC’s five-year business plan (2020-2025) to secure more funding from public and private sectors. Providing the best service delivery to citizens remains the top priority.
