In a display of friendship and cooperation, French Ambassador Nicolas Galey hosted a reception to celebrate France’s National Day, Bastille Day. This day commemorates the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, a pivotal event in the French Revolution that symbolizes the fight against oppression and the birth of a new republic based on liberty, equality, and fraternity.
Ambassador Galey and Pakistan’s Minister for Privatization, Investment Board, and Communications, Aleem Khan, emphasized the importance of the historical and cultural ties between France and Pakistan. They highlighted the significance of cultural exchanges in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation. Ambassador Galey also noted France’s support for Pakistan’s development initiatives, especially in sustainable energy, infrastructure, and vocational training.
Minister Aleem Khan stressed the importance of strong economic and trade relations and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with France in areas such as trade, education, and technology. Both officials acknowledged the contributions of Pakistani and French communities in bridging cultural and social gaps. They proposed potential initiatives to enhance people-to-people contacts, including student exchange programs, joint cultural festivals, and collaborative research projects.
The event, attended by diplomats, politicians, and journalists, underscored the strong ties and the optimistic future of Pakistan-France relations.
