Pakistan and Tajikistan have agreed to waive visa requirements for holders of official passports, following a two-day official visit between Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. During their discussions, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade, agriculture, health, education, and investment.
The leaders also addressed the issue of terrorism, recognizing both countries’ shared challenges and Pakistan’s longstanding efforts in combating terrorism.
Prime Minister Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s support for Palestine amid ongoing conflict, citing reports from the Gaza Health Ministry that detail significant casualties and injuries.
Additionally, Pakistan has announced diplomatic visa issuance for Tajikistani citizens for up to three months starting May 5. Tajikistan offers simplified visa procedures to citizens of 126 countries across all visa categories. Foreign visitors must register with the Tajik Ministry of Interior within ten working days of arrival, while diplomatic personnel must register with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
