YouTube is now focusing on third-party apps to advertise YouTube Premium memberships as part of an increased campaign against ad blockers.
These programs may give error messages or cause problems with video playback for users.
In response to dwindling ad sales, YouTube has been cracking down on ad blockers globally since October. This campaign comes after that.
After a brief dip, ad income increased, and by February 2024, YouTube had more than 100 million paying members.
YouTube Premium and other subscription services offered by Google brought in more than $15 billion a year.
