ISLAMABAD, October 14, 2026: Global mobility platform inDrive has partnered with Tech Valley, a Google for Education Premier Partner, to launch Digital Safar, a free online programme designed to improve digital safety awareness and artificial intelligence (AI) literacy among children of inDrive drivers in Pakistan.
The initiative will benefit 300 students in grades 6 to 10 through a three-week learning programme featuring live online classes conducted in Urdu. An in-person orientation for participating families is scheduled for October 17 in Islamabad, while classes will run from October 19 to November 9, 2026.
The programme aims to equip young learners with practical digital skills, helping them navigate online spaces safely, recognise digital threats and use AI tools responsibly.
Awais Saeed, Country Lead of inDrive Pakistan, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting drivers and their families by providing children with opportunities to develop skills for the future.
He emphasised that Digital Safar seeks to help children use digital platforms safely, learn with confidence and access emerging opportunities regardless of their circumstances.
Umar Farooq, Founder and CEO of Tech Valley, highlighted the importance of making digital literacy and AI education accessible to children beyond privileged educational environments. He said the partnership brings Google’s digital safety and AI learning curriculum directly to the children of inDrive drivers, building on Tech Valley’s experience in digital education across Pakistan.
Saba Kalsoom, Head of AI Strategy and Operations at Tech Valley, said the programme focuses on practical outcomes, enabling children to identify fraudulent messages, protect their online accounts and use Google’s Gemini AI tool as a learning partner rather than a substitute for independent thinking.
Digital Safar Focuses on Online Safety and Responsible AI Use
The programme incorporates Google’s Be Internet Awesome and Gemini Academy learning tracks, combining digital citizenship, online safety and responsible AI use through interactive sessions, group discussions and practical activities.
The Be Internet Awesome track is designed for students in grades 6 to 8. It will teach participants how to share information responsibly, recognise phishing attempts and fake messages, and strengthen the security of their online accounts. Students will also practise identifying suspicious messages and creating strong passwords.
The Gemini Academy track targets students in grades 8 to 10. Participants will learn how to use Gemini to support their studies while critically evaluating AI-generated information. The sessions will encourage students to compare AI responses with guidance from parents and teachers, assess the reliability of AI-generated advice and develop responsible digital identities.
As a final project, students will create a personal Digital Citizenship Booklet using Gemini. The booklet will include online safety rules, digital habits and slogans written in their own words.
Expanding Digital Education Opportunities in Pakistan
Digital Safar represents an initial step in inDrive’s efforts to expand STEM education and digital learning opportunities for the children of its drivers and local communities in Pakistan.
Through initiatives focused on technological literacy and digital skills, the company aims to make learning opportunities more accessible to young people preparing for an increasingly technology-driven world.
Tech Valley, an education technology and digital transformation partner originating in Pakistan, works with schools, universities and government institutions to support the adoption of digital tools. The organisation reports having worked with more than 2,000 institutions and empowered over 500,000 individuals across the country.
Meanwhile, inDrive operates across more than 1,200 cities in 48 countries, offering services that include ride-hailing, intercity transportation and delivery.
The Digital Safar partnership highlights the growing importance of digital safety and AI education in Pakistan, particularly for school-age children who need the knowledge and confidence to participate responsibly in an increasingly connected world.
