Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar traveled to Beijing on January 4, 2026, to co-chair the seventh Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue, which serves as the highest-level consultative mechanism between the two countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that in-depth discussions encompassed strategic cooperation, defense, security, economy, trade, investment, and cultural exchanges. Senator Dar reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to bolstering its all-weather strategic partnership with China, describing it as a cornerstone of foreign policy.
The two sides assessed the advancement of CPEC and examined collaboration in sustainability, innovation, and technology. This was indicative of a strengthening of bilateral relations and a mutual dedication to peace and prosperity in the region.
