A new one-window public service facility, Assan Khidmat Markaz, is nearing completion in Islamabad and is expected to be inaugurated soon, aiming to streamline access to essential government services for residents of the capital.
The facility has been established in the former Public Welfare Department (PWD) building located in the Mauve Area of Sector G-9. Under the initiative, the centre will provide hundreds of public services under one roof, including the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) one-window operations, services of the Islamabad administration, and likely passport-related services.
The PWD building has undergone complete renovation, including a redesigned exterior tailored to support modern one-window operations. The project was executed by the Capital Development Authority as deposit work.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, accompanied by an engineering member, recently visited the under-construction Assan Khidmat Markaz to review progress. Officials briefed him that construction of the main structure has been completed, while finishing and renovation work is in its final stages. Landscaping and horticulture work at the site has also been completed.
Expressing satisfaction with the quality and pace of construction, the CDA chairman directed that the facility be formally handed over to the Ministry of IT and other relevant departments upon completion. He further instructed that remaining work be completed immediately to ensure the centre opens for public use without delay.
Mr Randhawa stated that the Assan Khidmat Markaz will significantly improve service delivery by consolidating multiple departmental services in a single location. He also confirmed that all services currently available at CDA’s one-window facilitation centre will be offered at the new facility.
