Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti on Wednesday inaugurated the province’s first-ever Pink Bus Service in Quetta, marking a major move toward safer and more accessible public transportation for women.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, the chief minister highlighted that the service builds on recent women-focused initiatives, including the Pink Scooties program, and reflects the government’s commitment to expanding opportunities for women across the province. He praised the performance of women deputy commissioners, noting that their leadership demonstrates that women can serve in high-responsibility administrative roles with equal efficiency.
He added that the new bus service—along with scholarships and development measures—aims to improve mobility, safety, and educational access for women throughout Balochistan.
CM Bugti also criticized what he described as “extremist elements” who attempt to mislead Baloch women, urging families to guide their daughters toward education, development, and global opportunities instead of destructive paths.
He announced the expansion of the province’s Green Bus Service to Pishin, Mastung, and Turbat, and confirmed that the government is actively working to introduce electric buses to address both transport needs and environmental pollution.
Referring to the Quetta–Sariab Peoples Train Project, the chief minister said it will further strengthen urban connectivity and ease travel for local residents. The government hopes that combined transport initiatives will significantly improve daily mobility for women and the wider community.
