UN Women Pakistan announced the appointment in an official statement, highlighting her potential to drive meaningful change. “As a renowned actor and advocate, Hania will use her platform to raise awareness, inspire action, and amplify the voices of women and girls across Pakistan,” the organization shared. “Together, we will continue working toward a future where every woman and girl can realize her full potential — free from violence, discrimination, and inequality.”
Aamir now joins an esteemed group of UN goodwill ambassadors from South Asia. She is the second Pakistani to receive this title from UN Women after Muniba Mazari in 2015.
