Pakistani entrepreneur and SpectrEco CEO, Faraz Khan, has been awarded the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in recognition of his outstanding commitment to strengthening UK-Pakistan relations, particularly in climate, sustainability, and enterprise.
For over two decades, Khan has played a pivotal role in fostering connections between the UK and Pakistan. His leadership at SEED Ventures and personal initiatives has not only deepened bilateral ties but has also been a catalyst for positive change, advocating for poverty alleviation, diversity, and sustainable social impact.
Receiving the MBE, Khan expressed profound honor and emphasized the award as a commitment to collective action for positive social change, reinforcing the enduring bond between the UK and Pakistan.
His impactful work includes bringing British institutions like Prince’s Trust International, Social Enterprise Academy, and Purple Tuesday to Pakistan, significantly contributing to socio-economic and enterprise development.
Under Faraz’s guidance, SEED Ventures, as the country hub for the Social Enterprise Academy International network, has played a crucial role in nurturing emerging social enterprises, elevating Pakistan’s global standing in social impact endeavors and fostering cross-cultural collaboration.
Faraz’s efforts extend beyond borders into policy and ethical business practices. His collaboration with the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) has shaped social enterprise legislation, providing a framework for impactful, sustainable initiatives.
His work with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) under the Business Integrity Initiative led to the development of the Charter of Integrity for Small and Medium Enterprises in Pakistan.
