The Caretaker Prime Minister has granted approval for a substantial 45 percent increase in pay and benefits for Management Position officers (MP I, MP II, and MP III). As per the Finance division, this revision in the Management position salary package will come into effect from October 1, 2023.
For MP I, the caretaker government has raised the maximum limits of basic salary, house rent, and other allowances, significantly increasing them from the previous figures.
The maximum salary for MP-1 will be Rs. 1,013,920, while the minimum will be Rs. 804,180 per month starting from October 1, 2023. The house rent allowances have also seen a notable increase.
Additionally, the government has raised utility allowances and revised the salary and allowances for MP-II and MP-III officers. The MP scales officers are entitled to various benefits, including TA/DA on official tours, medical facilities, and gratuity.
According to the Finance division, the costs associated with this increase will be covered by the respective divisions/ministries from their allocated budgets for the current fiscal year.
The revised MP package will automatically apply to the existing incumbents in MP scales, subject to performance evaluation and approval.
The monetization of transport facilities for MP scales officers will remain unchanged as per existing rates.
