During the World Cup game against South Africa in Chennai, Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan achieved the milestone of 2,000 one-day international runs.
This accomplishment occurred when the 31-year-old began his innings by hitting a boundary off the fast bowler Marco Jansen, following Pakistan’s decision to bat at the Chidambaram Stadium.
Rizwan has been in excellent form during this World Cup, having scored 302 runs prior to the match against South Africa.
South Africa’s Quinton de Kock leads the batting charts with 407 runs, and before the Friday game, the Indian duo of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma held the second and fourth positions with 354 and 311 runs, respectively.
Australia’s David Warner occupied the third spot with 332 runs in five matches.
